Poster Audience Feedback

Audience feedback for the poster was overall positive, for example, an audience member felt that the leaf image ‘draws interest immediately because it is unusual and it clearly links to the album name’ We wanted to create a link between the image used on the poster and the name of the album, and by using an image of a leaf, it clearly links to autumn. A viewer commented by saying ‘the poster is minimalist and creates an enigma as the viewer cannot see the artist except for the small front cover image’. We decided to use this style as we felt it would create more interest around the album and the artist. Overall viewers said that the poster was ‘simplistic and conforms to the conventions of an Indie Pop poster as it clearly gives a quirky feel’ due to us wanting to continue the idea of representing the artist as being quirky and unusual, and by keeping the poster simple, this was achieved. A critical comment we received was ‘might have been more effective if the writing and images were lower on the poster as the album name is close to the image’. This was a point that I hadn’t thought of myself, however, in my opinion if the information had been any lower down it would of created an unusual amount of space on the poster.
