Mise en Scene:
The image in the advert is the same picture used on the front of the CD, which features the artist wearing lungs around her neck. This allows the viewer to be able to identify the CD easily in a shop and the same quirky and quite serious feel is being brought across.
The only colour in the advert is in the image. This allows the artist to be the focus of the advert and to stand out easily against the black background.
The image is very large and covers most of the advert. This allows the viewer to see the artist fully and again helps them to identify the CD in a shop.
Font and Colour:
The font used for the name of the band is a handwritten style, which is feminine, linking with the female front woman. The font of the other text, especially the ‘Lungs’, is much more simple and structured, allowing the important information to be seen and read clearly.
The colour of the text is white, this allows it to clearly stand out against the black background, and this colour makes it eye catching. The audience is also spoken to by the text used, such as the text explaining that certain popular songs feature on the CD.
Target Audience:
The target audience isn’t specific; however from the dark colours and serious tone created, the target audience would be older teen and young adults.
Tagline/Title:
There is no tagline featured on the advert. The name of the album is the larger piece of text on the advert, and this gives an idea that she is a naturally good singer.
Representation:
The representation of women can be seen here. The artist is portrayed as independent as strong as she is the only person on the advert.
Enigma:
The text tells the audience that specific popular songs feature on the album. This helps to create an enigma as this will persuade people to buy the CD. The dark colour and single image also help to create an enigma.
Attract Intended Audience:
The single image, black background and text telling the viewer which popular songs feature on the CD attract the audience to buy the CD.
